VivoCity’s Third Anniversary celebrations include spectacular fireworks, Christmas festivities with much-loved Disney Characters, 103-feet tall Christmas Tree and more! Singapore’s largest retail and lifestyle destination, VivoCity, is turning three! To mark this joyous occasion, VivoCity will be holding several delightful activities that will fill the air with Disney Magic and Christmas cheer! From 13 November to 31 December 2009, visitors to VivoCity will be treated to exciting festivities involving well-loved Disney characters, a Sky Park that has been transformed into Tinsel Town with a 103-feet tall dazzling Christmas tree and more. Shoppers will also get a chance to celebrate VivoCity’s third Anniversary with a spectacular display of fireworks by award-winning choreographer FUEGO21 from Korea on 2 December 2009. Third Anniversary Celebrations VivoCity is proud to announce that it has been three wonderful years of exciting entertainment and wonderful shopping! We will be thanking our supporters for a very successful three years with an especially commissioned multimedia and pyro-musical fireworks display for both our shoppers, and invited guests! This sensory feast of fireworks is a tradition that VivoCity is proud to have yearly and is choreographed by pyrotechnic experts FUEGO21 from Korea. FUEGO21 has choreographed fireworks for events such as the 2002 World Cup Opening Ceremony in Seoul, so come down to VivoCity on 2 December to catch bursts of colours light up the night sky at the Waterfront Promenade. As we move forward to 2010, we will continue to reaffirm our dedication to creating extraordinary experiences at VivoCity for all.” VivoCity celebrates Christmas with the tallest Christmas Tree in Singapore This Christmas, VivoCity will be transformed into a tropical Tinsel Town by the sea where the centrepiece will be a breathtaking Christmas tree standing on a sparkling 3D tinsel ball adorned base. The magnificent tree which now stands at 103 feet has grown a foot every year since 2007, signifying VivoCity’s ever growing joy and celebration in this season’s carousel of festivities. The VivoCity Christmas tree is the tallest in Singapore and will be documented in the Singapore Book of Records. Festive nights at VivoCity will be merry as we light up the gigantic Christmas tree with an array of 1,500 red and yellow illuminated balls using energy-saving LED lights, jewel-like adornments and semi 3D tinsel balls. 850 pieces of green garland used to surround the tree total up to 12,000 metre in length! Decorations aside, the band around the tree showcases a contemporary streak, making VivoCity’s “crown jewel” stand out against the backdrop of the Sky Park’s nightscape this Christmas season.
