Podiatry Symposium 2008: Feet in Sports
The Podiatry Symposium is organised with the purpose of ensuring that our healthcare professionals remain updated with the latest ways lower limb conditions are diagnosed and treated.
Very little focus has been paid to the feet and most of the conferences involving the feet have been in the context of diabetes and the ongoing challenge of lowering amputation rates. However, other aspect of FEET in SPORTS is no less important. Many athletes have found their performance lacking due to conditions such as flat feet, or recurring ankle sprains and injuries.
We are honoured to have Mr. Craig Payne, Senior lecturer in the Department of Podiatry, La Trobe University, Australia as our guest speaker for this event. He will also be conducting our post conference workshop that will include a more hands on approach to examining the lower limb and the latest theories in the construction of foot orthotic devices.
Besides Mr Payne, we have also invited other speakers who will provide insights from various angles and points of view; from the sports physician to the orthopaedic surgeon, podiatrist, physiotherapists and also the traditional Chinese acupuncturist. It will be a good opportunity for delegates to meet, exchange ideas, forge friendships and good working relationships.
We believe that all our delegates will take away knowledge and skills that will enable them to provide better and more effective clinical care to their patients and those under their care. We look forward to welcoming you at the symposium!
