Islamic Auditing and Banking and Finance
Modern development and growth of Islamic banks and the increasing volume of work and the complexity of the activities of banking and investment arises the need to support the Sharia Supervisory Boards with enough tools or technical equipment that combine between technical and practical expertise in the areas of banking. In addition, for project implementation, one should be equipped with reasonable determinants of Sharia’, that can be refined and adopted by the successive guidance issued by t he organization (AAOIFI).
To be efficient, legal (Sharia’) auditing within Islamic banks is dependent to its obviousposition in the organizational structure that governs the relationship of this device within the executive departments on one hand and the senior management of a bank on the other hand. In addition to the size of powers and functions entrusted to it, as well as the degree of financial and legal training of executive workers within it. Moreover, the success of Sharia’ auditing in achievement of its role, requires working within a clear framework, target, and determinant strategic plan based on a set of indicative procedures of the Sharia auditor.
About the Trainer
Mufti Najeeb Khan is has over 20 years of experience in training in Islamic law and finance . He is a Shariah Advisor at Habib Metropolitan Bank and a leading authority on Shariah compliancy. He holds the notable distinction of having personally overseen the execution of over one 1000 murabaha transactions and is keenly familiar with the issues involved in the area of Shariah compliancy related to execution.
