This September, come join the Fuhua Primary School Brass Band at the Park as they take centre stage and present a unique musical repertoire. Date: 4 September 2010 (Sat) Time: 11.45am (30 mins) Venue: Pools Amphitheatre Price: Activity is free, admission applies The Band takes pride in its eclectic repertoire which includes musical genres ranging from Broadway favorites to marches and even popular hits. Through their music repertoire, Fuhua Brass Band hopes to create awareness that band performances are not limited to only brass band repertoires but also other musical genres. Since the inception of the Brass Band, the 40 member strong group has received various awards and staged performances for numerous events, festivals and celebrations. This year, the school achieved a silver award at the Singapore Youth Festival 2010 Central Judging Competition for Brass Band. The school is committed to help the members of the Band develop good discipline, teamwork, cooperation and social harmony through a structured music programme for all the members. The programme includes music theory lessons, basic instrumental playing skills, daily band rehearsals, music exchange programmes, and mentorship sessions with its affiliated secondary school band.
